Blazer Big Brake Upgrade

The 98+ Blazer Big Brake Upgrade is a smart and effective way to upgrade your plain jane stock single piston truck brakes (or 94-97 blazers). This also works with your old g-body cars, as the g body and 2wd s10 uses the same suspension nd steering knuckles (spindles). Back to the main point, this upgrade is simple and cost effective and can be done using all stock components. it can be done on either 2WD or 4WD/AWD S-Series

Parts are as followed for 2WD brake upgrade

  • 2WD 1998+ Blazer spindles (Lowering Spindles also work for you lowriders)

  • 98+ Dual piston calipers and brackets from Blazer (2wd and 4wd use same caliper and bracket) Can be bought brand new or used ones, your preference. New brake hoses are recommended but not needed.

  • 98+ Brake pad set

  • 2WD Front HUB Bearings (Wheel bearings)

  • HUB bolts (This part may not be needed if you source your parts from a used blazer) However if you do need them. Dorman Part Number: 917-503 is a pack of 3 bolts that will work. 2 sets will be needed. These have been tested and installed on S10LIFE’s own ZR10.

  • In some cases, we have seen stock spindles raise stock ride height, there has also been cases where it did not affect ride height. Please keep this in mind with some lowered S-Series

Parts are as followed for 4WD brake upgrade

  • 4WD spindles from 4WD 98+ Blazer, can also be sourced from 98+ ZR2 and Olds Bravada (AWD)

  • 4WD HUB bearings

  • CV axles

  • Brake parts are same as 2WD process

Now there is even bigger brake upgrades, such as C5, C6 ,CTSV ,5th & 6th Gen Camaro, but here at S10LIFE we’ve found the Blazer Brake Upgrade is the most cost effective, simplest and requires no modifications to spindles. It is definitely the best budget friendly brake upgrade out there for your average street trucks, drag trucks (EX: LSBluu has the Blazer Brake Upgrade), or just a stock truck that needs to stop better.
